NEW EPISODE of Cohesive.TV's "Sound Visions"

Cohesive TV's "Sound Visions" comes out with a

NEW EPISODE on Monday

September 6, 2010 (8:00-9:00 pm, EST)

“Sound Visions with Will Alexander”

Sound Visions now also on iPhone, iPod and iPad!

The new episode of Sound Visions is shot at the world famous record store Black Market in Soho London and is presented by the awesome Will Alexander.

Will talks about new indie music artists globally. He also interviews Ray Keith, Drum 'n Bass legend -DJ, Producer and Remixer who keeps his ear on the ground in London's famous record shop.

Sound Visions features Milk+'s music video “Rezonex”, the awesome Vienna based band is influenced by musicians like Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Bjoerk, Tom Waits as well as directors Stanley Kubrick, The Coen Brothers and David Lynch. The outcome: perfect Rock, Progressive and Psychedelic sound.

The Phenomenal Handclap Band is a group of musicians and artists from Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. The band started to take shape when DJ and production partners Daniel Collas and Sean Marquand began writing songs together in their studio while simultaneously producing other artists' records. With their involvement in the thriving nightlife scene, the partners had an almost encyclopedic knowledge of esoteric music ranging from Brazilian soul to vintage psych-rock & proto-disco, along with a wide range of musician friends to help them cultivate their vision for their own album. Sound Vision features the music video “Baby” from the PHB self-titled album, directed by Stephen Agnew.

Another great music video provided by Friendly Fire Recordings in Brooklyn Williamsburg is “Saanko jaada yoksi?” from Regina, a band from Helsinki, Finland. In the western hemisphere, chances are one won't understand a single word Regina sings, and that's okay. Lisa Pykäri – vocals, Mikko Pykäri - bass, guitar and programming and Mikko Rissanen – drums sing in their native language of Finnish, lending a surreal, otherworldly quality to their distinguished blend of electronic beats, folk and world music, wild percussion, and slightly-hazy melodies.

Regina formed in 2005 when Lisa and Mikko Pykäri started making early demos in their living room in Tampere, a largely industrial town that is often called "the Manchester of Finland" due to the disproportionate number of rock bands it has produced.

Regina has been nominated for the Emma award (the Finnish equivalent of the Grammy award).

New York's Elk City - House of Tongues re-invent the seductive sophistication of 1970's FM radio pop - but never shy away from their formidable rock power. Renée LoBue - vocals

Sean Eden – guitar, Ray Ketchem – drums, Carl Baggaley – keyboard produce the striking blend of rock, folk, soul and jazz on their newest release that separates Elk City from their peers in terms of ambition and expertise. Not since the brilliant American Music Club has a popular band so fully metabolized this range of influences to such masterful effect. Sound Visions features Elk City's “Cherries in the Snow”.

Cardiac Move was found in 2002 but in this formation they have been playing since October 2004. Powerful still very personnel is how they guys like their album the 6th seal described. On Sound Visions: Fishermen.

The wonderful glamorous Jesse Evans on the way to world stardom recorded her first solo album between Berlin and Mexico has the sensual yet chaotic charm of a shipwrecked sailorette dancing in a hurricane. The songs feature live drums, percussion and saxophones. Afro beat, nu-no wave and a touch of Istanbul Sound Visions has “Class Magic” from her album “Is it Fire”.

NEW DOCUMENTARY on Cohesive.TV "Chessboxing”

Cohesive TV' s new documentary “Chessboxing” starts on

August 06, 2010 (8:00-9:00 pm, EST)

“Chessboxing”

Mike Richardson's documentary on a fascinating new sport

Mike Richardson's documentary on that fascinating sport Chessboxing, a combination sport and one of the most exciting new sporting events in Europe, takes chess the ultimate thinking sport and boxing the ultimate physical sport, to something completely new. A fusion that creates a different kind of energy in sport, something that has not been there before. Chessboxing started in Berlin when a Dutch artist Iepe Rubingh staged an exhibition Chessboxing match. The idea of Chessboxing is out of a comic from Enki Bilal. Iepe was fascinated by it and wanted to bring the idea to live. Iepe was fascinated by it and wanted to bring the idea to live. In the comic the match is portrait with 12 rounds of Heavyweight Boxing after which the players start a Grandmaster game of Chess that lasts 3 to 4 hours. This way the game would not attract the public, Iepe knew that. Therefore the game's rules were set to 4 minutes of Chess followed by 3 minutes of Boxing up to at total of 11 rounds. The player wins either through checkmate, a knockout or if the other player exceed the chess time limit and gets disqualified. In Chess the player battles against the enemy's King, in Boxing the opponent is the enemy in person. The constant challenge for the player is to calm down or switch his mind. The best Chessboxing players are currently the Germans. Germany is where it started but a new club in London Islington found by Tim Woolgar does already have great talent like Andy Costello to follow. Frank Stolt "Antiterror" is the current champion and David Deptoe "David Double D Deptoe" is the first Amerian to represent the sport. Be sure to watch an exclusive interview with Director and Producer Mike Richardson on What's up Cohesive.TV soon.

“Chessboxing is for warriors who want to train their muscles and brain.” (Frank Stolt- World Champion Chessboxing).

Balthazar can't do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler, a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protege. The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It'll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorceror's Apprentice. Salt's efforts to prove her innocence only serve to cast doubt on her motives, as the hunt to uncover the truth behind her identity continues and the question remains: "Who Is Salt?"

Check out the action loaded trailer as well as an interview with Angelina Jolie.

The Adjustment BureauRelease (Universal)

Do we control our destiny, or do unseen forces manipulate us? Matt Damon stars in the thriller The Adjustment Bureau as a man who glimpses the future Fate has planned for him and realizes he wants something else. To get it, he must pursue the only woman he’s ever loved across, under and through the streets of modern-day New York. On the brink of winning a seat in the U.S. Senate, ambitious politician David Norris (Damon) meets beautiful contemporary ballet dancer Elise Sellas (Emily Blunt)—a woman like none he’s ever known. But just as he realizes he’s falling for her, mysterious men conspire to keep the two apart. David learns he is up against the agents of Fate itself—the men of The Adjustment Bureau—who will do everything in their considerable power to prevent David and Elise from being together. In the face of overwhelming odds, he must either let her go and accept a predetermined path…or risk everything to defy Fate and be with her. The Adjustment Bureau is written for the screen and directed by George Nolfi (writer of Ocean’s Twelve, co-writer of The Bourne Ultimatum). It is based on a short story by Philip K. Dick (“Total Recall,” “Minority Report” and “Blade Runner”).

NEW EPISODE of Cohesive.TV's “Sound Visions"

Cohesive TV' s SERIES "Sound Visions" is coming out with a NEW EPISODE on

June 18, 2010 (8:00-9:00 pm, EST)

"Special with Vagabondage"

Vagabondage, a musical duo from a past that never happened, has been described as the greatest acoustic due in San Francisco.
Starting their band in 2008 Cindy Emch on the accordion-squeezies- and John Flaw on the guitar barking mad vocals they have produced perfect Folk/Punk/Roots Music.
Influences are John's father and grand father, Tom Waits,  Curtis Eller, Nick Cave,
PJ Harvey, Johnny Cash and many more.
Dry whiskey and wine are their favorite drinks -of course they always drink responsibly ;)
Cindy and John love to perform on stage because of the connection with the audience.
Great gigs were the Hubba Hubba Revue in Oakland and Hotel Utah Saloon in San Francisco.
They also like being in the studio thru long days that become “this crazy weird human pathological experiment” and of course “because the studio offers tools to help write music and create things you could not do otherwise, like the layering of music and collages of tunes...”
Cindy used to sing along with her mum when she played the accordion but she only learned playing the accordion two years ago when the band started. John was 12 years old when he taught himself how to play the guitar “hitting it til it made the noise he liked and it seemed to work out”.
Yes, it has.
Beautiful gypsy infused Americana Roots sound full of joy, melancholy and dark humor can be found on their new album “From the Bottom of an Empty Glass” which one cannot afford to miss out on!
Cohesive.TV has an exclusive interview as well as footage Vagabondage's performances   at benefit for Junkstock on the San Francisco DIY music festival at the Plough and Stars pub, Armando's in Martinez and the DNA Lounge in San Francisco.

Sex and the City 2 Special- Interviews & B-rolls

On a press conference the cast is debating whether or not the mics are working and that somehow everything seems to be much more muted in a shoe department :) As the press conference is about to start Mr. Michael Patrick King asks the cast: "Now all go to your theatre voices please!" Talking about circumstance of the different characters in the movie and whether the actors can relate to them in their personal life many great insights were given.

Miranda doesn't know what do do now that she has a terrific job, the one she always wanted, and all over sudden she is just miserable in it. Cynthia Nixon thinks about her character that the older you get the more you get a sense of yourself, you start learning to value yourself and you speak out for yourself, protect yourself. "If you are miserable being a lawyer it might be better not to be one at all." she says.

Carry finds herself thinking about married life and tradition. Why is it that we run toward it and why do we push it away again? Why do we question it? How do we re-define tradition for ourselves and how do our friends define it? What better place to ask these questions than in the Middle East. :) Sarah Jessica Parker says that women of a certain generation aren't even conscious of the fact that they are constantly questioning themselves. Women are in the process of redefining their roles all the time. "It is the great gift our mothers gave us, the opportunity to rethink the roles that we take on in very conventional institutions like partnership, work environment or in a home with children.."

For Samantha it is"..Menopause, Menopause....and I didn't have to do any research!" Kim Cattrall laughs.

Charlotte who tried to create the perfect picture and keeping it all under control now knows she needs to be honest instead of keeping the facade up. Kirstin Davis: "That's what's wonderful about going away out of normal day to day life you get to appreciate it, look at it and analyze it and share about it..."

Sarah Jessica Parker: "It's hard to deny that there is that wonderful search/ endeavor for love ...and the clothing thanks to Patricia Field is fun and the souffle ..but there is an emotional ingredient, it's the disability to articulate emotion, embarrassing and candid and intimate and the humorous way of observing our emotional journeys...that a lot of people in the gay community love and are very comfortable saying that. Straight men now seem to admit that they watched it maybe because the wife/ girlfriend forced them ..or..occasionally they watch it on their own!....if the remote got stuck..

Cynthia Nixon: "These four women are each other family.. Maybe you have a family that you come from that you love or maybe u have trouble with them. But you come to NY and you create your own new family!!"

Chris Noth: "It's a conversation between the head and the heart. The head is dealing with all the "shoulds" that society puts out there as to what is real.."

Question: "What the most empowering thing about being a fun and fearless woman?"

Kirstin Davis: "The general thing is that we are different characters, powerful each in their own right, living through it together and I love what we present."

Kim Cattrall: "The most powerful thing is that we have encouraged a lot of women to change the way they feel about being single, about having cancer, about getting married and then being deserted, being alone and being lonely. I think we've addressed them and encourage them to come together and that's a very powerful thing. In this era of post-feminism I think that we've helped define what it is to be successful, smart and also feminine."

Sarah Jessica Parker: "Those women love each other. I love how decent and honorable they are towards one another, how much they respect one another. They have found this incomparable friendship that is truly inspiring." "Women would much rather be allies then adversaries."

Cynthia Nixon: "The feminist movement is about choices. These four made such different life choices . It doesn't mean you have to have a career, you have to not be married....there is a whole range of choices that are out there."

Michael Patrick King: "We filmed on 5th Ave in New York in front of Bergdorf Goodman with gazillions of people watching and supporting. We went to Morocco..one, two, three, four...sorry Chris..not five..people didn't really know us. We shot in Morocco for Abu Dhabi on "Lawrence of Arabia" dunes! It was a completely different time, different colors, different sounds, big meals in tents..and camels with attitude. It was an extraordinary experience and a magical time.

It's big old time oldy fashion movie making . We actually went far away and made a Hollywood movie. The inspiration for the second movie was the audience at the first movie. I have seen them dressed up and having cocktails before, going out in groups, taking pictures of themselves. It was like an interactive party and I wanted the new movie to be a continuation of that party.

It was the beginning of an economic downturn and as a movie maker I was thinking about my job. I thought Hollywood should take people on a big vacation that maybe they couldn't afford themselves, on a big party, a big extravagant vacation.

I thought it was our job to give everyone the vacation that maybe they can't afford now and they can go with their girlfriends to the night out and go on vacation with their other girlfriends which are these four ladies.

Men will be surprised how much the movie is for them as well."

Sarah Jessica Parker: "Its wonderful there's not one villainous move by any man in this movie. Any consequences are in the part of us and the choices we are making and some momentarily reckless behavior or cavalier attitude about cultural standards it is all us and we come home frankly a little wiser.."

This rubric of Cohesive TV prides itself on improvisation, spontaneity and an unabated fervor to never repeat, all the while developing and honing a peculiar style. From institutionalized squats and museums filled with street art to indie French rockers that model themselves after tragic anglophone icons, Parisian Pandemonium shows you the flip side of the city of lights.
